Pilz

Limited Releases

Liberator Doppelback
Brewed for the last days of the winter season, this beer has a deep brown color and pours with layer after layer of thick malt flavor. This rich malt character is balanced and gently supported by hops present in the brew. This Liberator’s dry and clean finish is brought on by lager yeast that steadily works its winter conditioning.

Schawrzbier
Dark-colored with a hint of roast character gets its clean malt flavors from the spicy, flowery notes from noble hops. If held against the light, Schwarzbier will show deep ruby undertones. This is not a heavy beer though; it has a dry, clean finish because of the conditioning and cold fermentation with lager yeast. A nice dark beer for any Pilz fan.

Dunkelweizen
This is wheat ale the way they do it  south of Germany, which is pretty much where Primus and Hefeweizen both takes after.Dunkelweizen gives off that breath-taking clove, banana and vanilla  aromas provided by the Bavarian wheat strain.

Roggenbier
Direct translation is rye beer. This is meant to showcase rye malt’s special contribution to brewing, Roggenbier has refreshing tartness and cloudy body, and lightly hopped. Its fruity notes brought on by fermented, special German ale yeast, which greatly compliments the spiciness of rye.

Berliner Weisse
A special beer that has undergone bacterial fermentation for lactic acid to naturally occur for a nice, lemony tartness. This classic wheat ale highlights a bready maltiness, effervescent carbonation, and low bitterness.

Weiber Rauch
It’s a German word for white smoke, and is a magnificent union of a classic German Rauchbier and Hefeweizen. Smoke in other Live Oak beers were less restrained letting the weizen yeast to come out. The smokiness of the Weiber Rauch plays on the fruity esters and spicy phenols to improve complexity. Perfect for the smoke beer novice or connoisseur.

Lichtenhainer
This German style of beer making has vanished since the 1980’s. Berliner Weisse has a lot in common in terms of tartness and strength, but the Lichtenhainer hammers home an element of smoked malt releasing an intriguing aroma.

Grodziskie
A revival of the last remaining indigenous Polish beer-making style that has gone extinct in the 20th century. Production came to a stop during the 90’s in Poland. This brewing process involved just oak-smoked wheat malt. The aroma this produces is distinct and intense from the ones Live Oak uses in their other raucbiers.

Pale Ale
Infused with bright tropical fruit flavors and citrus,  Live Oak’s Pale Ale is made dry and pale with choice hipster hops. Its moderate bitterness and apparent immoderate hop aroma and flavor make it a perfect choice for IPA drinkers.

HopfenWeibe
Marries the best attributes of Live Oak’s Weissbier to the nice fruity aromas unique to American hops. Brewed in a similar manner as the Hefeweizen, Hopfenweibe comes out with a strong floral, citrusy aroma with a mild bitterness. Best served fresn!

Gold
Brewed in the style of the Bavarian folk’s favorite drinking beer, Live Oak Gold is a bright, crisp lager bursting with soft malt flavors spiced with fine Hallertau noble hops. A long secondary conditioning and slow, cold fermentation is what makes this beer truly beautiful and brilliant.

Helles Rauchlager
A smoky, pale, bitter beer brewed with traditionally smoked malt. A decoction mash is used to produce body and the malty character. Hefty amounts of malted barley smoked in beechwood make for a powerful smokiness and clean finish.

Oaktoberfest
Live Oak’s fall favorite, Oaktoberfest is masterfully brewed following Bavarian traditions. The finest German malts give it a rich flavor, its malty fullness balanced with bitter notes of noble hops. The beer is stored in conditioning tanks to allow the rich malty character to round out and to produce that smooth finish.
