Magnolia Cafe is one of Austin’s most favorite places for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and more. A staple of the community and a long-time player in the food scene in this city, Magnolia Cafe is best for those who like comfort food and the flavor of a true home-cooked meal.

Breakfast Served 24/7

If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, you’ll love that you can get your favorite meal of the day anytime of the day at Magnolia Cafe. The breakfast menu is quite lengthy, and contains all of the traditional favorites as well as some unique items. Those who love Magnolia for breakfast rave about its pancakes–which take up the entirety of the plate they’re served on–and the omelettes, which are huge and delicious. Favorite omelettes choices include the Magnolia, with avocado, tomato, black olives, cheddar and jack cheese, and lemon sour cream sauce; the three alarm taco, with scrambled eggs, potato, cheddar jack cheese, and jalapeƱo chipotle sauce; and the gingerbread pancakes, which are charged per pancake (one is $3.25, two are $4.75, and three are $5.75).

Great for Tex-Mex in Austin

For Tex-Mex that includes enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, and quesadillas in a variety of styles, you’ve got to go to this cafe. The Tex-Mex is flavorful and filling, and just as cheesy and messy as Tex-Mex is intended to be. Our favorite Tex-Mex items are the fish tacos, BBQ chicken enchiladas, portobello fajitas, cheese quesadillas with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream.

Come Hungry for Specials

The house specials here are not only delicious, but they’re heaping in portion size and ridiculously affordable. You must try the pasta Caspian with chicken breast, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, fresh spinach are garlic, linguine, and feta cheese–you won’t regret it! The Magnolia stir-fry is another popular house speciality, and for $9.00 with tofu, it’s a vegan favorite.

Vegetarian Hot Spot

In addition to the stir-fry with tofu, there are a plethora of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu that make veggie lovers unite here. The veggie rueben sandwich is a top-seller, the portobello melt is mouthwatering, the veggie voodoo blue cheese burger will leave your happy for days, and the black bean nachos are some of the best in the state.

Permanently Packed Place

Due to the great grub that’s offered, the home and community feeling, and the fact this place is open all day every day, Magnolia Cafe is pretty much permanently packed. While this would be a bit of a headache at any other place, it only adds to the charm and feeling of fun at this restaurant.

For food that’s delicious, prices that are cheap, and a place where you can chow down at anytime, Magnolia Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Austin.
