Despite having similar menus, each Cafe Express is a little different, depending on their location. The one in Uptown is close to the Galleria, The Tasting Room wine bar, and many other great sights. This location has a great outdoor seating area, which makes it perfect to meet up with friends on a nice day.
The menu is always good, with rotisserie chicken, cafe-style sandwiches and signature salads being the most popular items on the menu. The desserts are made to order, and the variety between cookies to chocolate lava cakes make for a good end to a meal. Coffees and hot chocolate are made from scratch when ordered.
They have a back room you can specifically reserve for public functions.
The biggest problem with this location is it’s popularity. A lot of groups in Houston have already claimed this location as their meeting place. The back room is almost always booked, and the location is very noisy. So while it’s a great place to meet a small group, you may not be able to be able to organize larger functions very easily.

Great place. Try the pecan tart. It’s addictive!
