Some of the Best Barbeque in The Woodlands

As this restaurant’s website so aptly states, “There is no love more sincere than BBQ.” For those who wish to satisfy that love, and any cravings, head to CorkScrew Barbeque in the Woodlands for the art that is great barbeque.

Moist Meat

There are few things worse than dry meat in the food world, and luckily you’ll be in the clear when eating at CorkScrew. The brisket is moist as can be—in a good way—and the brisket sandwich with baked beans and potato salad is a must-try. And rumor has it that the Dino Rib, which you’ll find on the menu, is perhaps the most amazing piece of meat you’ll ever eat.

Wait a While

Because this restaurant is so great, there’s usually a line, so prepare to wait a bit. However, this is well worth the time spent. The line can be out the door on a Saturday, so if you can make the time during the week, going on a weekday is advised. However, if you are stuck waiting, enjoy some of the complimentary beer while you kick it on the patio. Plus, there’s always a crowd, so consider it an opportunity to make new friends.

How it Happened

CorkScrew truly is homemade, and it all originated when the founders of CorkScrew,Will and Nicole Buckman, began barbequing for fellow employees of AT&T, the company that Will was employed at. Shocked by how amazing the BBQ was, coworkers and friends begged the pair to open up their own restaurant. Lo and behold, the two actually made it happen after opening a small catering business first. With no indoor seating available, CorkScrew BBQ has retained that backyard BBQ with friends and family feeling, even when you’re dining alone.

Early Dinner, Late Lunch

If you’re planning on swinging by CorkScrew late night or on your way home from work, keep in mind that CorkScrew closes its doors at 7 PM, making it an early dinner venue. On Saturday, the restaurant closes at 5 PM, and it’s closed on Sundays.

This restaurant is truly a favorite amongst local Woodlands residents, and there’s rarely a negative word said against it. The mac and cheese is creamy and delicious, the BBQ sauce has a little zing to it, and all of the meats are finger lickin’ good. Have a loaded baked potato, a plate of ribs, the pulled pork, or even some tacos. Plus, there’s a kids’ menu too.

Perhaps the only bad thing about this restaurant is how far it is if you don’t already live in the The Woodlands. That being said, if you’re in the area, it’s worth the time.
