The Best Eats

If you love pho, you’ll love Kim Son. However, in addition to pho, there are a lot of other great dishes that you might not find at a regular pho place in Houston. For example, you should definitely considering trying the Vietnamese beef fajita salad, which is a delicious combination of flavorful beef alongside lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a delicious dressing. The special fried rice is also some of the best fried rice you’ll find in Houston, and perfectly accompanies that fajita salad, or just about anything else on the menu. The Vietnamese egg rolls are a great appetizer, and you absolutely have to try the deluxe tofu if you’re a vegetarian and like tofu—it’s battered, is served with a delicious black pepper sauce, and is served with grilled peppers and onions. Trust us, it’s good.

Vietnamese Curry

While curry dishes are typically associated with Thai or Indian cooking, if you haven’t tried Vietnamese curry dishes, you’re missing out. The spicy coconut curry beef—bo xao lan—is absolutely amazing, as is the regular curry beef—bo xao ca ri. If you like spicy, simply ask for it extra hot, or request some sriracha hot chili sauce.

Perfect for Everyone

Another great thing about Kim Son is that it’s perfect to accommodate anyone’s needs. Need a nice and classy place to host a large dinner party? Kim Son will provide all of the finest touches. Having a craving for satisfying Vietnamese food and can’t bring yourself to change out of your sweatpants? No one will think twice about happily serving you at this laid-back establishment. Great Prices

The prices aren’t what you’d call cheap at Kim Son, but they’re right on point with what they should be for the quality and quantity of food that you’re served. The delicious egg noodle dish with BBQ pork, shrimp, and yu choy in chicken broth will cost $9.25, and a bowl of soup with brisket and meatballs will only set a person back a mere $8.95. Considering the portions are sizeable, this isn’t too bad at all.

Good for Night Owls

While this place isn’t open past midnight, the fact that it’s even open that late on the weekends makes it a great place for night owls or those who don’t get off work until 10 PM. If you’ve been looking for a fun place that serves both great food and yummy beverages, Kim Son is great for any day of the week.
