If you love eating local, then you’ll love everything about Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge. Not only are they a local restaurant that uses local products in their dishes, but they also operate as a training center for local aspiring chefs. Plus, they also feature art from local artists. For an interesting meal that’s always fresh and an awesome example of modern French cuisine, Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge is it.

The Charcuteries Maison

When you head to Kris’s, you should absolutely order the Charcuteries Maison from the appetizer menu before choosing your entrée. While the name might deceive you into thinking this is just another meat and cheese plate, you’ll be delighted to learn that all the charcuteries on your plate not only exceed expectations, but meet your ethical standards, too. The charcuteries come from the Heritage Breed pigs that are grown and harvested from a local source using humane standards. The cheeses are absolutely perfect, too.

Begin Your Meal

If the charcuteries option doesn’t sound too appetizing to you, there are still plenty of starters and first courses to opt from on the menu here. The Superlative Foie Gras Torchon is remarkable, and the Gulf Crab Sphere, which is sweet jumbo lump crab meat with Beurre Blanc sauce, is very satisfying.

Favorite Entrées

Choosing what to eat at Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge can be difficult, and everything is fairly fabulous. However, diner favorites would include the Flounder Murat, Roman Aglio e Olio Barigoule (spaghetti in red chili flake oil with artichokes, carrots, parmesan, and a chardonnay sauce), the Braised Oxtail Lasagna Bolognese, and the Braised Lamb Shank.

A Taste of France

Another must have thing at this restaurant is a glass of French wine, which the restaurant offers a plethora of. The wine is very high quality and, while expensive, is a nice indulgence while dining here.

Take a Peek

It’s fun to dine at a somewhat interactive atmosphere, such as the Japanese restaurants that offer hibachi grills that diners can sit around. While the cooking isn’t nearly as guest-involved at Kris Bistro, sitting by the large glass paneling in the restaurant will provide you with an awesome view of the kitchen. Watch as your meal is prepared by those in traditional chef hats, and be wowed at the talent behind the glass.

A Fixed Lunch Menu

The lunch menu at Kris’s is set, and is only offered three days a week, Wednesday through Friday, from 11 AM to 3 PM. For $20, guests will get a soup, choice of one of three available entrées, and a dessert of choice. Tax, gratuity, and beverages aren’t including, making this an expensive, but delicious, lunch.

Find this Place

As mentioned before, the restaurant also operates as a training center for aspiring chefs. As such, make sure you look for the sign that says Culinary Institute rather than Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge. No sign for the latter exists, and you might drive right past it feeling frustrated that you can’t find it.
