Laid Back Patio Bar & Grille in Houston Heights

Onion Creek is very popular for it’s outdoor dining, drinking & people watching.  Perfect for lazy weekends. It’s like a funky Austin bar that somebody moved to Houston.  This is perfect place to share a sandwich & a draft beer or glass of wine with your friends. It has a similar vibe to it’s sister restaurants Cedar Creek and Canyon Creek.

Open Late

Open until 12 AM Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; 1 AM on Wednesday; and 2 AM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Onion Creek has you covered for all your late night food and beverage needs. Have one of the unique beverages offered, or indulge in some late night tacos.

Open Early

If you don’t make it to Onion Creek during their lunch, dinner, or late-night hours, why not try the morning? Opening at 7 AM 7 days a week, this is a great restaurant to gobble down a unique and filling breakfast. Try the buttermilk waffle in either blueberry, bacon cheddar, chocolate chip, or Texas pecan version, or opt for the Bayou Burrito that’s loaded with eggs, black beans, avocado, cheddar, potatoes, and Serrano. If you’re a lighter eater, you can always get a bagel, fresh fruit cup, or order a la carte from the side options.

Perfect Lunch Locale

A great lunch restaurant can be hard to find, as a lot of restaurants specialize in dinner. For lunch at the Onion Creek, you can find hotdogs, salads and sandwiches, pizza, burgers, and appetizers that really should be meals, such as nachos. The Rooster burger with blue cheese and bacon is a must-try, the one of the frito pies, literally fritos, chili, onions, and cheddar with the optional choice of sour cream and jalepenos are pretty dang good. Be warned–your tummy might hurt a little afterwards.

The patio provides plenty of shade on hot days, and it pretty picturesque as it’s decorated with picnic tables. This place gets packed in the evenings, making it a great place to not only hang out with friends, but perhaps meet some new ones, too.
