What started as a New Orleans pizza joint offering affordable, authentic Italian pizza to local college students has transformed into a nostalgia-inducing, taste bud pleasing pizza empire. Both Darryl Reginelli and Bruce Erhardt (the founders of Reginelli’s) joined forced with Ti Adelaide Martin (made famous at Commander’s Palace in the Big Eay) and her brother Alex Brennan-Martin (known at Brennan’s here in Houston) to bring this remarkable pizza chain to downtown Houston.

Darryl Reginelli says it best: “The food sets us apart — we’ve been roasting our own red peppers since we opened 17 years ago.”

Reginelli’s restaurant’s history includes such things as a front-of-the-house experience that most get at high-end French and Italian restaurants. It’s the cornerstone of their success, given that same experience one gets at a five start restaurant. This was decided upon before even deciding on ingredients like fresh sausage, pancetta, aged mozerella and real salami.

All of this comes together for a taste you will not expect for a price you cannot beat.
