If you’re anything like the average American, few things beat the prospect of dinner and a movie. Heading to the theatres for the air-conditioned atmosphere, the comfy seats, and the surround sound at just the right volume while your favorites play it out on the big screen is an American pastime. Wouldn’t it be great if you could indulge in a great meal at the same time? At Studio Movie Grill in Houston, you can.

The Experience

Here’s how Studio Movie Grill Works:

First, you reserve your seats (preferably online) in advance. If you’d like, you can also stop in to the box office instead.

Next, show up to the theatre at least twenty minutes before the film is set to begin. The earlier you get there, the more time you’ll have to spend in the bar and lounge, relaxing with an adult beverage, before your order your food.

Twenty minutes before your movie starts, head into the theatre to order your food, and perhaps place another drink order. You food will be served to your seat.

Finally, your chair will have a call button for wait service. You’re welcome to order as often, and as much, as you’d like throughout the show.

Fun for Everyone

Another great thing about this dinner theatre is that, unlike many theatres, which only cater to adults, Studio Movie Grill is open for everyone. While they do show many new releases that aren’t appropriate for children, there’s also a plethora of kid-friendly shows constantly playing. As such, heading here is a fun way to spice up everything from date night to family night.

What’s on the Menu

Another thing that’s absolutely fabulous about this theatre is that they don’t limit you to a choice of three options. Instead, they have a full appetizer, salad, entrée, pizza, dessert and kids’ menu. Favorites include the chicken nachos (the perfect movie food), the shrimp and coconut chicken entrée, the BBQ bacon cheddar burger, the vegetable lover’s pizza, and the New York cheesecake for dessert. Kids can choose between mac and cheese, chicken tenders, a quesadilla, or cheese or pepperoni pizza.

Spectacular Specials

With how fantastic the foods and specials are, you might be fooled into thinking that this is a bar or restaurant rather than a movie theatre. Specials range from $5 house margaritas on Mondays to $10 endless one-topping pizzas on Sundays. Every day of the week you’ll find an array of awesome food and drink specials, including the 2 for $25 combo, which comes with an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. While they’re not listed as a special, we highly recommend one of the adult milkshakes—probably the frosted mint chocolate, with cake vodka, chocolate, fresh mint, and vanilla ice cream—as your dessert of choice. However, there’s a full bar, so you can get anything from wine, cocktails, or simply a beer.

Great Prices

Finally, despite the awesomeness of this establishment, movie tickets are no more than a regular theatre when it comes to price. Food is paid for separately.
