For a sushi that almost melts in your mouth, food that can’t be beat, and an atmosphere that’s chic and comfortable, Uptown Sushi is one of Houston’s best sushi restaurants. If you’re feeling adventurous and in the mood to stray from your regular locale for your night out, want to take a date somewhere different, or just love sushi, Uptown Sushi is highly recommended.

Get a View

If you’re someone who frequents sushi restaurants, you know that there’s always a sushi bar, or a place where the raw fish and sushi ingredients are displayed and the Itamaes, or sushi chefs, work their magic. However, unlike most traditional sushi restaurants where there are tables throughout the restaurants and only those who choose a bar seat get to see these sushi works-in-progress, Uptown Sushi offers stadium seating that allows every restaurant patron to get a full view of the sushi bar throughout their meal. Additionally, the stadium seating has two levels, so you’ll never have to worry about being overcrowded or missing out on viewing the fresh, raw fish.

Great Quality

At Uptown Sushi, the fish is always the freshest, and all sushi options and entrees are prepared with a modern twist and a unique touch. You’ll never have to worry about ordering food that makes you question how old it is, nor will you ever be disappointed by the multitude of options that Uptown Sushi provides. Delight in the soups or salad here, try the sushi or sashimi, order a roll or two, or even opt for an entrée if raw fish isn’t your thing. Of course, make sure to pair your sushi (or entrée) with sake (or wine), and save some room for the mochi ice cream.

Upscale Sushi

This isn’t the all-you-can-eat late night sushi restaurant of your college days; rather, this restaurant is classy, trendy, and elegant. The interior is lit with mood lighting, and features lamps draped in white linens, white tablecloths, and quite a few folks sipping on martinis. While this may not be the ideal restaurant to take your rowdy group of friends, it is perfect for a romantic date night, a calm evening with your family, or a business dinner or lunch. Leave your kids at home, wear something nice, and don’t forget to bring your wallet.

Must Try Items

For fish that tastes as smooth as butter and has amazing flavor to boot, you must try the salmon belly. If you don’t love sushi but are okay with rolls, opt for the Jaimie Roll. And, if you’re absolutely opposed to raw fish but got dragged to this sushi restaurant despite your vehement protesting, then you’ll be thrilled you came if you sample the Kobe beef appetizer and the risotto and toriniku.

While there are other sushi restaurants in Houston that offer sushi for a lower price, you won’t find the same quality, atmosphere, and central location that Uptown Sushi offers. While a reservation isn’t necessary, you should make one if you’ll be dining on the weekend or plan on having a larger party. \
