The Fire Bowl Cafe is a restaurant in San Antonio that offers a variety of Asian fare ranging from Thai to Chinese. With prices that are nice and cheap, lots of options to choose from in terms of cuisine, and a dining space that’s comfortable and clean, this is a great restaurant for stir-fry and more.

The Fire Bowl Experience

Everything is made to order, and is kind of similar to a deli shop in the way that you order from the counter and pick your ingredients then and there. You can customize every dish, which is great for those who know exactly what they want. Also, it’s good to note that their food is incredibly fresh, and everything’s made free from MSGs, and that gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.

How The Stir-Fry Works

You don’t have to get stir-fry here, but it certainly is a popular favorite. Here’s how it works: First, you choose your main ingredient–chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu, or a combo. Then, you choose your veggie mix–you can choose between a combination of snap peas, broccoli, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, edamame beans and zucchini. Then, you choose your sauce, which is one of the most important parts of the process as this will really dictate the flavor of your meal. They have Thai curry sauces, Thai pepper, Szechuan garlic, spicy peanut, teriyaki, ginger white wine, and more. Finally, choose between rice or noodles. If you want, you can pay $1.99 more to add on crab rangoons, a cup of soup, a pork egg roll, or veggie spring rolls.

Kids’ Bowls Keep Little Ones Smiling

The kids’ bowls here are fabulous, and as they’re all priced under $4, this is the perfect way to feed your whole family for cheap. Kids can opt for a teriyaki bowl, a lo mein noodle bowl, a sweet and sour chicken bowl, or a bowl of macaroni and cheese.

Additionally, they also have a wide range of adult noodle and rice bowls, like pad thai, Vietnamese vermicelli noodles, Fire Bowl fried rice, basil fried rice, wok toss noodles, and more. All noodle and rice bowls are priced at $7.50, making this one of the cheapest places in San Antonio for a great meal!

Great Place for Take-Away

If you love take-away, this is the perfect place for it. Orders are made quickly, packed hot, and are really affordable. Plus, you can even place your order online, which is a neat feature. In addition to the rice and noodle bowls and all of the stir fry options, they also have some great appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees, too. Try the potstickers, the soft Thai summer roll, the General Tso’s chicken, the sesame chicken, or the crispy orange chicken. Everything is great, and since they have outdoor seating, and serve beer and wine, this place is a home run it terms of food and comfort.
