Despite its very humble appearance–complete with pale pink facade and cheap sign adorned with bright blue letters–the food at Thai House Restaurant has received raved reviews from those who eat here. Whether it be the prices, the feel-good atmosphere, the amazing soup and noodle dishes, or their great lunch specials, something about this restaurant makes people rate it is one of the top Thai restaurants in San Antonio.

What Will Surprise You Most

Like we said above, what will probably surprise you most is the hole-in-the-wall setup that delivers eye-popping and mouth-watering cuisine. As for dishes themselves, we think you’ll be shocked by how darn good the pad se-ew, the tofu Thai fried rice, the cheese rolls, the seafood soup, and the chicken pad Thai are (not to mention just about everything else). If you’re new to this restaurant, the things named above are certainly first time vista must-orders.

Unbelievable Prices

If the quality of the food doesn’t shock you into loving this place, the prices definitely will. This is probably some of the cheapest Thai food in all of San Antonio, with all of the noodles dishes being priced under $10, speciality dishes between $10 and $15, entrees all under $12, the many curries averaging around $9.95, and side orders all less than $3.

Craving Curry? Get Some at Thai House

Curry is one of the most amazing dishes in the whole world, if you ask us, and a meal that requires lots of preparation and love to be made just right. At Thai House Restaurant, the curries are so amazing you may never eat curry anywhere else again. Opt between the traditional red, green, and yellow curries, or try something new and exciting like the Choochi curry, the Gang Pha curry, or the Panang curry. For each type of curry, you can choose between your choice of sea scallops, shrimp, roasted duck, squid, mock duck/ mock chicken (for vegetarians/vegans), tofu, chicken, roast pork, beef, or veggies. Most people love the Panang curry, which is sweet and spicy with green beans and basil leaves. All the curries here are excellent though. If you like it spicy, make sure you ask!

Vegetarians Go Nuts for This Place

Not only do they have tofu and other imitation meats for their curry and noodle dishes, but they have a whole vegetarian section on their menu. Try the chili tofu with fried bean curds, bamboo shoots, chili, and mixed veggies; or, the Thai House Garden is a melange of veggies and chili paste, and will hard not to gobble up instantaneously. Don’t let the fact that this place is veggie-friendly deter your from going if you’re a meat eater–there are some amazing meat options, too! And really, the menu is SO extensive that you’re going to have plenty of options.

If you like the sound of this place, go before it’s too late–once the dinner rush hits, this tiny place gets packed fast. Also, make sure you’re hungry because portion sides are generous!
