The Cove is one of the most unique restaurants in San Antonio, and is a local joint where people hang out, have a good time, and…uh, do their laundry. For more information about this little food and fun establishment, read on:
Solely SOL
According to their website, The Cove operates on the basis of SOL only. SOL standing for Sustainable, Organic, and Local. Paring with local farmers and ranchers, only serving what’s in season, and serving grass-fed beef, this is a great place for food that’s fresh and healthy, and well as food that is making a positive impact on the world rather than harming it. In essence, it’s food you can feel good about loving!
What They Serve
The Cove is perfect for everyone, and has options for vegetarians, those who eat gluten-free, and those who love the traditional carb-and-meat creations. You’ll find a plethora of tacos here, burgers, salads, yummy starters (like bean and cheese nachos), and kids’ options. Plus, they also serve beer and wine.
Favorite Menu Items
If you go here, here are some raved about items that you should absolutely try:

As awesome as this place already is, they also feature live music, making this restaurant that much cooler. The music changes depending upon the the day of the week, but you can check out the full schedule on their website.
Great Bar Area
The Cove has a great selection of craft beer, making them one of the best places for beer in the whole city. They also have beer and wine tasting days, a happy hour, and wine for those who prefer it over beer. While the restaurant closes at 10 PM Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday, the bar is open for one hour later than closing time.
Dog Friendly Dining
The patio here is fabulous, and definitely deserves recognition as one of the coolest in San Antonio. Plus, it’s dog friendly, which is a major plus for those who love their pups! However, don’t bring your dog on a wine or beer tasting day–all other days are fine, though!
It Keeps Getting Better
Other great things about this restaurant include the fast and free wi-fi, the lot to park in with plenty of spaces, and the awesome staff, who are friendly and fun. Also, this is a completely kid-friendly restaurant, which even features an awesome kids’ playground in the back that kids can hang out in while they wait for their food, or while parents are having a moment to themselves. Oh, and there’s a laundromat and carwash, too!
In conclusion, this is one of the hippest and most beloved places in the city, and not going checking it out would be cheating yourself out of an awesome experience!
