If you love Vietnamese food and often find yourself craving pho and other Vietnamese fare, VN Bistro in San Antonio should become one of your new go-to places for Vietnamese cuisine. With lots of cheap offerings, great quality food, and a comfortable dining atmosphere, we think VN Bistro will wow you.

Pho For You

The pho here is great, and offers that of which might be found on the west coast of the United States where the pho is really popular. The pho is always served nice and hot like it should be, with noodles that are perfectly cooked and veggies that taste fresh and delicious. Plus, the pho is offered at a great price, and is a lot cheaper than some other restaurants in the area.

Order the Vietnamese Coffee

Vietnamese coffee is delicious, and if you haven’t had it before, this place is the perfect spot to try it out for the first time. Typically, Vietnamese coffee is served iced, and is brewed using a filter that’s much different than the traditional coffee-making means. You can have the coffee served black if you like, but it’s usually served with sweetened condensed milk. This is a perfect beverage to cool yourself down on a hot day in Texas.

More Great Dishes at VN Bistro

If you don’t like pho or it’s too hot out for soup, try some of the other amazing things on the menu. The crispy noodle dish is fantastic, the Vietnamese egg rolls are a big hit, the vegetarian summer rolls are prefect for those trying to eat meat-free, and the Vermicelli with chicken is great. They have a spicy and a non-spicy menu, so everyone has plenty of options to meet their personal spice tolerance level.

Crazy for Crepes

While crepes are typically associated with European kitchens–namely those of the French– the Vietnamese crepes here are really, really good. The crepes are stuffed with goodies (ingredients ranging from meat to veggies depending upon your preference), and can be eaten plain or with a sauce of choice.

Fast, Not Friendly, Service

While there are no complaints about the speed or the quality of food here, be warned that the waitstaff isn’t nearly as friendly as you might expect from other Texas restaurants. While no one is downright rude, they can definitely be short, and it’s always a good idea to make requests politely and with a big smile on your face. Remember, you’ll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar!

Beer and Wine While You Dine

A great thing about this place that sets it apart from a lot of other Vietnamese places in San Antonio is that rather than being a BYOB establishment, they do have a small selection of beer and wine that diners can choose from. They also have some great desserts, so if you’ve been looking for a place to satisfy your craving for spicy food and sweets all in one, this is it.
