The Whaley House Museum Complex, located in Old Town San Diego, is the site of the supposed  “most haunted house in America,” and is available for visitors to tour and learn about the history of the mid-nineteenth century home and the stories of the family that resided there.  The Whaley House also served as a commercial theater, a courthouse, and a general store, creating a very long and interesting history for the site.

The Save our Heritage Organisation, the organization that operates the Whaley House and the other museums in Old Town San Diego, does its best to create a full experience for visitors by keeping up all the details, including supplying their docents with period clothing to create a full effect.

The Whaley House Museum Complex is open all year long, but hours vary by season.  Admission price to the Whaley House is nominal and also includes entry to the complex’s other sites, the Verna House and the Derby-Pendleton House.  There is free parking in two nearby garages, and some street parking available as well.

For an even spookier experience, reserve a private, night-time tour of the Whaley House for you and a guest, or join paranormal investigation teams on a late-night “Ghost Hunting Tour,” both available at an extra cost.
