At Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens there is an opportunity to engage in the outdoors all year long. The federally-protected, Anacostia River park offers something different for you to admire at each season – birding, wildflowers, and aquatic gardens at their peak of the season, depending on the time of year.

The site is free to the public and with the exception of a couple of holidays, is open every day of the year from morning until 4:00 pm. The park is also bike-accessible (though inside the park you have to walk your bike) and pet-friendly (leashes required). The marsh is foot and canoe-accessible, but it is extremely important to canoe only with the proper water level – the tide in the area drastically affects the amount of water that is available for boating, especially in the marsh area.

Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens also has special event opportunities, educational events, and group tour availability.
