You get what you pay for at Rasika: a high-dollar, fine dining experience eating outstanding Indian food in an elegant and artful setting. There are two locations to choose from – one in Penn Quarter and one in West End, where you might be able to get outdoor seating on a nice evening!
The menu includes griddle (tawa) and bar-b-que (sigri) specialties, house made chutneys, and a variety of vegetarian and seafood plates, all of which make up what many people say is “the best Indian food in the country.” Rasika recommends ordering a variety of dishes and sampling them as a group. To make the choice easier on you, there are also multiple-course tasting menus to select. If you are headed somewhere after dinner, you can get to the restaurant early for a pre-theater menu.
Rasika prides itself on its extensive wine menu and knowledgeable staff who can recommend great wine for your meal. In addition to the wine selection, they offer cocktails and small plates in the lounge, which is open five days a week starting at 11:30am, and on Saturday evenings starting at 5:00. Lunch is served Monday-Friday and dinner is served Monday-Saturday.
