Infamous Brewing was founded by four guys from diverse backgrounds who loved quality craft beer as much as sharing the experience. Despite this diversity, they were all drawn to the art  of beer brewing and the robust local craft beer scene Austin is currently enjoying.

They built their brewery from scratch, and never purchased those shiny pre-fabricated system because they believe that they can replicate it with their own mad skills. They set up their system over a  nine-month period, building their system they are brewing their craft beer on. It’s awesome what a handful of friends sharing the same interest, a whole lot of beers, and nine months can accomplish.

Infamous Brewing

Infamous Brewing has a grill area by the outdoor picnic tables where you can barbeque the meats you can bring along. Dogs are allowed in, as long they behave and do not partake of the beer.

Events

Happenings at Infamous Brewing are as diverse and fun as the four guys who built the place. They have live music, karaoke, movie nights, Chicago-style hotdogs, and free popcorn for the kiddos! There’s also the occasional fundraisers like the bikini car wash event. (last one was for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity). Follow them on social media to find out more about their brewery tour offerings.

The Brews

Hijack Cream Ale
ABV: 5.5%
Hijack pours a hazy golden yellow color capped with a quarter inch-thick head that dissipates, leaving a lacing that lingers for a while. Aromas of vanilla and lemon greets you, and it’s malty body makes for an easy and crisp drinking experience and a clean finish.

Bugsy’s Fire Brush
American Amber Ale
ABV: 5.5%
A unique blend of crystal malts make for a distinct roasted maltiness complemented by a light hoppiness

IPA
American style Indian Pale Ale
Tomahawk and Warrior duke it out in a level battlefield of malted barleys. It has a slightly golden color crowned with a beige colored head that stays around for a little longer, and leaves a trail of white lacing when it dissipates. It has a nice resinous hop profile along with floral aromas.

Infamy
Old Ale
ABV: 9.5%
Infamy is actually based on Thomas Jefferson’s Pale Ale recipe, the “Plug Nickel” from the late 1700’s. It has a heavenly body brewed with blueberry honey and grits. There’s also copious amounts of Fuggle hops providing a clean finish for this incredible rendition.

Pumpkin Massacre
Pumpkin Ale (Seasonal)
ABV: 7.5%
This is what you get when you get a serious porter then mix it with the delicious contents of a pumpkin pie, hence the name. Available only during the fall, it’s dark and malty with hints of pumpkin and spice notes, all duly complemented by a nice pecan finish. An ideal Thanksgiving beer to wash down that nice turkey dinner.

Sweep The Leg
American Peanut Butter Stout
ABV: 7%
Another award winning craft beer from Infamous Brewery – Sweep the Leg is their version of an American Stout with a brilliantly unique peanut butter content added during fermentation to achieve maximum flavor. This beer pours an opaque, dark brown color topped off with a frothy, khaki colored head. The nose hints of roasted peanut butter with a smooth body accentuated by a light hop profile. Check out the subtle, but noticeable peanut buttery finish too. Let’s give it to the amazing peanut butter, shall we?

Double Tap
Imperial IPA
BV: 10%
According to Infamous Brewery, this is their stealthy Hop Bomb with a well balanced character. It pours a golden orange glow capped with a thick, foamy head. Azaca, Equinox, and Citra hops were used to come up with a double fit for easy drinking.Mangoes and papayas give this a tropical fruit base with yogurt notes backed by floral hops. It’s actually surprising to taste Double Tap’s sweetness works so well and dandy with the hop bitterness.
