Gastropub + Ice House = Umm, yes!!!

Where can you find food by an acclaimed chef, a bar, and a jolly fun time in Houston?  Look no further than Beaver’s.  Opened several years ago by the acclaimed chef Monica Pope, the joint features a series of fun drinks and foods celebrating the intricacies of smoky flavors induced by live-fire slow cooking.

Can you say Brunch?…

…Or lunch, dinner, dessert, and catering? At Beaver’s you can gobble up down-southern home cooking like BBQ ribs and burgers along with an impressive variety of specials and even vegetarian options. On top of a normal lunch and dinner menu, you can find the brunch menu packed with delicious items and a dessert menu with mouth watering treats. Need a hint on what to order? Everything on the brunch menu is amazing!

Good Vibes Inside and Out

Sometimes you want to eat indoors and sometimes you want to eat outside in the sunny Houston weather.  Why not give yourself both options at Beaver’s where you can chill inside at the bar or take the fun out to the patio seating area.  The patio features picnic table-like seating with parasols for shade.

Lively Parties

Beaver’s likes to keep things fun by throwing events, including a big ‘ol 4th of July bash, where the place gets festooned into the red, white, and blue.  There’s also and ongoing Speakeasy series so there’s plenty of time to get your drink on.  Who doesn’t love a speakeasy? I know I do.

Cocktail Fever

Are you ready for ‘Dam Good’ cocktails Houston? Clever aren’t they? The cocktail selection is actually quite impressive with several Beaver classics including a Bourbon based Son of a Peach, the habanero-infused vodka Forecast, and Houston Press Reader’s Choice 2013 Beaver Mary. Grab any or all at the bar and head out to the patio.

Beer and Wine, Oh My

The cocktails aren’t the only thing you can find at the bar. For those who love to indulge in a glass of wine, there’re both reds and whites.  If beer is more your flavor try out the selection of blonde and golden ales, porters, pilsners, ambers, hefeweizens, Belgians, strong ales, IPAs, ciders, and more.

Now Presenting Happy Hour

You’re in luck Houston; you can try some of the chef’s delicacies like Beaver Wings and taquitos for a discounted price on the happy hour menu. Tuesday through Friday is the regular, Saturday only for those partaking on the patio in the outdoor seating area or at the bar.  Sunday it’s just the restaurant. What’s with all the rules? After a few drinks you won’t remember where you were sitting anyway.

Casually Laid Back

I’ve been so busy pumping up the awesome food and drinks, I’ve nearly left out how chill Beaver’s is. There’s a good atmosphere and the place is casual.  Mostly good people looking to have a fun time and a few drinks from the bar.

Watch out for Servers

Some of them are amazing and offer all sorts of helpful suggestions to help you get through the chef’s specials.  However, there have been instances of cranky and inattentative waiters — everyone has a bad day sometimes, right?

Easy-Peasy for Parking

Yeah, there’s Valet, street, and a private lot.  Between those three you shouldn’t have any trouble. Just don’t go crazy at the bar if you’re the driver. Those habanero-infusions could knock you right out.
