Part restaurant, part museum, Underbelly explores the history and nature of cuisine in Houston, giving visitors a unique and and individualized experience.
The owner of Underbelly, Chris Shepard, tailors the menu on the unique history of the city of Houston, as a port city, as a agricultural center, and as a mixture of many different ethnic cultures. What results is a menu and a dining experience unlike anything else in the city.
The dishes on the menu are rotated regularly, showing off the individuality expressed by the owner. Guests can expect every visit to Underbelly to be different.
Open for lunch and dinner, and accompanied by a full wine bar, Underbelly is usually packed solid every day, so reservations are recommended.

A bit too eclectic for my tastes. I’ll give him four stars for originality and uniqueness, but the taste is not something I’d go for. Houston Fusion is not an idea that should catch on.
